Random fact: I GOT TO HOLD A BABY PIG YESTERDAY :D
My life is complete.
This week was basically normal, going out, working, trying to get out of the rain. The only difference was that we went on exchanges with some other fellow sister missionaries.
The highlight of this past week(besides the piglet) was learning about the "I Am" statement. A returned missionary showed me this in training and said it made all the difference in his mission and life so far. What an "I Am" statement entails is that it's a statement for your vision or goals of what you want to accomplish or to become. Elder Scott said that "You become what you do", so that's basically what this statement helps you to do.
For example lets say you want to become compassionate so you decide: I am compassionate. With this you ask yourself, "how can I be compassionate?" Then you think of ways to reach that goal, like "I'm going to show more compassion to my companion by giving them a compliment everyday", or anything that you can do to implement that trait or vision that you want to accomplish into your EVERYDAY plans. With those daily efforts, not only does your confidence become stronger, you become more sure that what you are doing is right. As your confidence builds, so does your defense against the power of the adversary to pull you away from your new "I Am" ability.
So I loved learning about that and understanding how I can reach my goals while not lowering my standards or expectations of myself or feeling guilty about whether or not I know you are doing your best. Hopefully this makes sense. If it does try it out see how it can change your week. I'm still working on finding my "I Am" and ways I can become i,t but just like in the scriptures, these things take a lot of pondering and a lot of praying, but it's always worth the effort.
I love y'all! Stay classy!
Love,
Sister Baker
