The Young Single Adults Branch are amazing at being missionary minded and inviting their friends to church. Sister Awerkamp and I love being here. We love being companions. I've never participated in such astonishing missionary work before.
The YSA branch is so on fire as we now have 5 total people who are investigators, 4 of which are progressing and yesterday a YSA brought his friend to church and he wants to find out more, which now makes 6 investigators total!
One of our investigators, Nick, is getting baptized this Saturday and he is has been getting prepared and is ready. We are so excited for him and will make sure he has all that he needs when he becomes a member of Christ's true Church.
I feel like Sister Awerkamp and I will do even more astonishing missionary work if we stay at least one more transfer (6 weeks) together. I know if the Lord wants me or Sister Awerkamp to go to a different part of Dallas then we will, but we feel impressed that we should stay. I'll let you know more if I get transferred to a new area or not.
Last week we participated in a 5K Run as a mission! All the missionaries got together and we had a fun time!
We also got our first training for when we all get Ipads!! Seeing that I have less than 6 months left I will probably be loaned an Ipad so I might not have to pay for my own. Which will be nice :)
Don't forget to pray at least twice a day and read your scriptures at least once a day, that way you get the blessings and answers you need from God and you get spiritually nourished and directed as well! Its called the 21 system. If you read once a day and pray twice a day that equals 3 and is you do it everyday for a whole week then you reach 21. It makes it easier to remember that way and you can see your progress as you check more consistently.
I love you all so much and thanks for being great examples to me one way or another, because I always try to learn something new from everyone I meet.
Love,
Sister Baker
My companion and I and our District Leader got matching shorts for the 5K Run.
Also celebrated our investigator Nick's 19th Birthday :)
